Privacy Policy

App: Einbürgerungstest · Publisher: Bakerly Apps · Last updated: · Version 4

This privacy policy explains how the mobile app Einbürgerungstest (“the app”), published by Bakerly Apps, handles information. The app is an independent practice application and is not affiliated with the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), the German government, or any other official authority.

Data sources (official BAMF)

All test questions and answer options shown in the app are taken from the publicly available question catalog published by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). The correct-answer key was cross-checked against the official BAMF online test trainer operated by BAMF.

Bakerly Apps is not affiliated with BAMF. For information about the official examination, please contact your local naturalization authority (Einbürgerungsbehörde).

Summary

Information stored on your device

The app stores settings and study data locally on your phone or tablet using the app’s private storage (for example: app language, federal state selection, quiz answers, bookmarks, spaced-repetition schedules, practice-test history, optional exam date for reminders, and notification preferences).

We do not operate servers that receive this study data. It is not uploaded to Bakerly Apps.

You can remove this data by:

Information we do not collect

Bakerly Apps does not collect from you through the app:

If you contact us by email, we receive only what you choose to send (for example your email address and message content) so we can reply.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app uses Google AdMob to display ads inside the app. AdMob is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google acts as an independent data controller for the advertising data it processes.

The app shows the following AdMob ad formats:

The app does not use rewarded ads, native ads, or video ads outside the formats listed above.

When ads are shown, Google may automatically collect:

Google uses this data to serve and measure ads, prevent fraud and abuse, and — where you have consented — to personalize ads. Full details are in Google’s policies:

EU/EEA users — GDPR consent for personalized ads

If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, when you first open the app a consent dialog provided by Google (User Messaging Platform / UMP) will ask whether Google may use your data to personalize ads.

How to limit ad tracking on Android

You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings: Settings → Privacy → Ads → “Delete advertising ID” (on Android 12 and newer) or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” (on older versions). After this, AdMob will no longer use a stable advertising ID to profile you.

Notifications (study reminders)

The app can show local notifications on your device to help you keep up your study routine. These are scheduled by Android on your device — they are not push messages, no server is involved, and no data leaves your device for this feature.

Notifications include, depending on your settings and whether you have entered an exam date:

You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app’s settings, or in Android’s system notification settings for the app. On Android 13 and newer you will be asked for notification permission the first time the app tries to schedule one. Reminders are scheduled as inexact alarms, so on devices in battery-saver or Doze mode they may fire a few minutes later than the scheduled time.

Sharing (Android share sheet)

The app includes a “Share” option that lets you share a question or a link to the app using Android’s system share sheet. When you tap Share, the app hands the chosen text to Android and you decide which app to send it to (for example a messaging app). Bakerly Apps does not receive a copy of what you share or which app you choose.

Read-aloud (text-to-speech)

The app can read questions aloud using your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine (provided by Android or the speech engine you have installed). The text being read is processed on your device by that engine. Bakerly Apps does not record audio and does not send the spoken text to its own servers. If your device’s speech engine is provided by a third party (for example Google), that engine’s own privacy policy applies to its processing.

In-app review (Google Play)

After an exam date you have entered, the app may show the standard Google Play in-app review sheet so you can rate the app without leaving it. The review sheet is provided and handled by Google Play. Any rating or review you submit is sent directly to Google and is governed by Google’s privacy policy.

Version and policy update check

When the app starts, it makes a single HTTPS request to a static file on bakerly-apps.github.io to check the current app version and the current privacy policy version. This is used so the app can let you know that an update or an updated privacy policy is available. The request is non-blocking — the app continues to work if the request fails. As with any HTTPS request, the host (GitHub Pages) automatically receives standard request metadata such as your IP address. Bakerly Apps does not log this request and does not associate it with you.

Android permissions used

The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, files outside its own storage, or any other sensitive permission.

Legal basis under the GDPR

Children

The app is intended for people preparing for the German citizenship test. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and ads served in the app are not directed at children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data that we process about you, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Germany: the data-protection authority of your federal state, or the Bundesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit). To exercise rights against Bakerly Apps, contact us at the email below.

For data processed by Google through AdMob, Google Play in-app review, or a Google text-to-speech engine, please contact Google directly using the links in the “Advertising” section above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date and version number at the top will change when we do. The app may notify you in-app when the policy version changes so you can review the update before continuing.
